70th Independence Day celebrations in Vancouver

The 70th Independence Day of India was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor by Indian Diaspora and friends of India on 15th August 2016 in Vancouver.

Acting Consul General Shri.Amar Jit Singh unfurled the national flag at the Consulate. After singing of National Anthem, the Acting Consul General read out excerpts from the President's address to the Nation and also addressed the gathering, showcasing Government of India's achievements and newly initiated schemes. This was followed by screening of documentaries sent by the Ministry. Afterwards, patriotic songs sung by visiting Indian Artistes Mr.Diljan and Ms.Sudesh Kumari enthralled the gathering. The Event also got a live media coverage both TV and Radio. Refreshments were served.
