Celebration of India@75

The Indian diaspora with the support of Laxmi Narayan Temple, Surrey organized a festivity to celebrate India@75 on August 21, 2022 in Surrey. Consul General Shri Manish represented the Consulate in the celebrations. Hundreds of members of Indian diaspora from various provinces of India took part in the celebrations and displayed their culture, food and costume. A wrestling match was also organized and Consul General felicitated the winners. Mayor of Surrey and City Council members were in attendance.

Tiranga Car Rally

The Indian diaspora with the support of Canada Hindu Foundation, Laxmi Narayan Temple Surrey, Hindu Temple Burnaby organized a Tiranga Car Rally to celebrate India@75 on August 21, 2022 in Surrey and Burnaby. Consul General Shri Manish flagged off the car rally from Laxmi Narayan Mandir in Surrey. Hundreds of members of Indian diaspora from various provinces of India took part Tiranga Rally which culminated in Hindu Temple Burnaby. Consul General addressed the gathering of Indian Diaspora in Burnaby Hindu Temple.

The Tourism and Hospitality industry is one of the largest service industries in India. The tourism sector in India is an integral pillar of the Make in India programme. Khardung La Pass, Leh - Ladakh

Famously known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the highest motorable pass in the world. It is filled with tourists crossing over from Leh and stopping long enough to click some photographs. Adventure bikers from all parts of our country and across the world visit this mountain pass on their motorcycles for an adventure soaked experience. Khardung La Pass is positioned on the Ladakh range, which is 40 km from Leh, at an altitude of 18,379 ft (5602 m).

Shivalik Fossil Park, Dehradun

A one-of-its-kind park in Asia, Shivalik Fossil Park Museum is home to about 2.5 million years old fossils of vertebrates from the region of Shivalik. Sprawled over an area of 1.5 sq km, the museum was opened in 1974. The highlights here are life-size models of extinct mammals that are made of resins and fibreglass. You can also find exhibits of limbs and skulls of tortoises, gharials, crocodiles, hippos and tusks of over 20 elephant species.
