To celebrate International Year of Millets 2023, Consulate General of India in Vancouver organized a presentation on Indian millets on 23 February 2023 to a gathering of 120 people from business community, diplomatic corps, investors, bankers and media. Consul General Mr. Manish made a detailed presentation and outlined significance of India’s leadership role in the UN-designated International Year of Millets 2023 and India’s multifarious connect with Millets; health benefits; Key messages of IYM 2023 and fulfilling the Sustainable Development Goals; positioning India as a “Global Hub for Millets”; Seven sutras to grow the production and consumption and importance of millets for food security and sustainable development. He also dwelt on the opportunities of investment in the millet ecosystem. Presentations were made by Mr. Aaron Stephen, Co-founder of Canadian Company Nature's Path and Dr. Arun K Garg, Health practitioner and President, Canada-India Network Society, highlighting agricultural, nutritional and commercial aspects of millets. Hon'ble Prime Minister of India's video message on #IYM2023 was also screened. Guests were treated with a sumptuous millet-based feast.

Researchers have created a breath print device to identify the disease from the compounds we exhale. All a person needs to do is blow into the machine.
