Mr. Chandrakant Salunkhe, Founder & President, SME Chamber of India & SME Investment promotion Council visited Vancouver and called on Consul General Mr. Manish. He was accompanied by Mr. Joseph Lebas, Chairman for India- US SME Business Council. Mr. Chandrakant Salunkhe has founded SME Chamber of India in 1993 to integrate SMEs to provide platform to enhance business contacts and business growth. The Chamber represents more than 2 million SME members & subscribers. They discussed opportunities of Indian SME companies in the Western Canada. They also explored opportunities of promotion of ODOP items in Canada. SME sector contribute major share in meeting India’s export targets.

Finger Millet

Another significant staple grain in Eastern Africa and Asia is finger millet ,often known as ragi in India (India, Nepal). At the top of the stem, the plant has many spikes or "fingers." The grains are tiny (1-2 mm in diameter). Finger millet grains are rich in minerals, dietary fibre, polyphenols, and proteins. Finger millet, which is rich in calcium, plays an important role in growing children, pregnant women as well as people suffering from obesity, diabetes, and malnutrition. It contains high amount of potassium for the proper functioning of the kidneys and brains and allows the brain and muscles to work smoothly.

There are two kinds of telescopes that are used to peer towards the sky - Optical telescopes, which help capture faint, faraway light sources and enable their study; Radio telescopes, which use giant antennae to capture radio waves from afar and help derive data out of them. While optical telescopes and observatories are more commonly known, they have a limitation of only operating during the night. However, Radio telescopes can capture radio signals round-the-clock.
