Consul General Masakui Rungsung attended the anniversary celebrations of the Battle of Saragarhi, organized by the Indian Armed Forces veterans under the Ex-Servicemen Society of British Columbia. The Indian Army's 4th battalion of the Sikh Regiment commemorates the battle of 12 September 1897 as Saragarhi Day. The solemn ceremony in Surrey was a poignant tribute to their courage, valor and enduring legacy. Let us always remember the sacrifices of our heroes and continue to draw inspiration from their selflessness and patriotism.

 

Consul General Masakui Rungsung attended the inaugural function of Indian Film Festival of Alberta (IFFA) hosted by Edmonton Movie Club in Edmonton. The event was attended by several local MPs, Ministers, MLs, Mayor and councillors beside special guests and film fraternity from India including Shabana Azmi, Vikrant Massey and Director R. Balki etc. and hundreds of film lovers in Edmonton.
CG in his address spoke about diversity of Indian cinema and visionaries of the film industry that have captured the imagination of global audience. He also commended on the efforts and vision of organizers of the festival for promoting the cultural exchange through the medium of films.
