Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is celebrated once in every two years to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the Government of India and reconnect them with their cultural roots. The 18th PBD Convention is being held from 8th-10th January, 2025 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The theme of the 18th PBD Convention 2025 is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat".

Consul General joined the special event to celebrate the “Hindu Heritage Month” organized by Mr. Kamal Sharma, KVP entertainers in Surrey. The event was also attended by Hon’ble Premier of British Columbia, Ministers, Mayor of Surrey, MLAs and religious and community leaders. The event saw representation of various dance forms and vocal performances by diaspora artists. November is celebrated as Hindu Heritage Month in Canada.

 

Consulate General of India in Vancouver organized a consular camp at Aria Banquet & Convention Centre, Surrey on December 1, 2024, for the benefit of Indian diaspora pensioners and issued life certificates & provided other consular services.

Chetna Association of Canada organized a ceremony at Simon Fraser University library to pay tribute to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his ‘Parinirwan Diwas’ on 6th December.
