The 18th PBD Convention is being held from 8th-10th January, 2025 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The theme of the 18th PBD Convention 2025 is "Diaspora's Contribution to a Viksit Bharat".

On 21st November, Consul General Masakui Rungsung met with the Indian community at the Mandir and Cultural Centre in Victoria. During the interaction, he listened to the community's experiences and success stories, addressing their queries on OCI cards and other consular services.

Consul General visited the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara in Victoria, where he offered prayers and was warmly welcomed by committee members.

On 22 October 2024, Consul General Masakui Rungsung visited Camosun College in Victoria, where he met with Dr. Lane Trotter and senior representatives to discuss the college’s initiatives for international students, particularly those from India.

Consulate General of India in Vancouver organized a consular camps at #PrinceGeorge,on 24 November 2024 for the benefit of Indian diaspora pensioners and issued life certificates and provided other consular services.

Consul General Masarung Rungsung visited Shatex, a Surrey-based textile company, importing fabrics & readymade clothes from India and supplying in Western Canada. Consul General invited them to BHARAT-TEX 2025 in New Delhi, 14-17 Feb 2025.

On the occasion of Constitution Day of India, Consul General Masakui Rungsung read the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, reaffirming the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity that it enshrines. All the officers and staff members came together to celebrate the event.

A two-member delegation led by Mr. Karthik Maheshwaram, President, of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Hyderabad visited Consulate and met Consul General. Mr. Karthik briefed CG about the chamber and the aspiration of its members to expand operations in Western Canadian provinces.

Excited to announce that applications are now open for the Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for the 2024-2025 academic year! This program provides financial assistance of up to USD 4,000 per year for eligible diaspora students pursuing undergraduate studies in India, including medical courses starting from the second year.
Key Details: Open to children of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Non-Resident Indians (NRI), and Indian workers in ECR countries.
Selection on Merit-cum-means based selection.
