The Consulate General of India in Vancouver organized a consular camp at Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara, Abbotsford on November 17, 2024, for the benefit of Indian diaspora pensioners and issued 557 life certificates.

The Consulate General of India in Vancouver organized a second consular camp at Khalsa Diwan Society, Ross Street Gurdwara, Vancouver, on 16 November 2024 and issued 152 ‘Life Certificates’ to community members availing Indian pensions.

 

 


Commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, CGI Vancouver celebrated the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas 2024 at the Consulate premises. On the occasion Consul General, in his address, emphasized the invaluable contribution of our Tribal freedom fighters. Birsa Munda rallied the tribals to fight against the forceful land grabbing carried out by the British government. He influenced his people to realise the importance of owning their land and asserting their rights over it.

Excited to announce that applications are now open for the Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for the 2024-2025 academic year! This program provides financial assistance of up to USD 4,000 per year for eligible diaspora students pursuing undergraduate studies in India, including medical courses starting from the second year.
Key Details: Open to children of Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Non-Resident Indians (NRI), and Indian workers in ECR countries.
Selection on Merit-cum-means based selection.
