Exhale as you twist your body to the right, moving your right hand towards your back and attempting to place your left palm on your right shoulder. Inhale and return to the starting position, then repeat the movement on the other side.

CANNES FILM FESTIVAL 2024: THE INDIA STORY

From its inception, the Cannes Film Festival has had a deep bond with Indian cinema, with Indian filmmakers consistently showcasing innovation and diversity on the French Riviera.
 Take a journey through the history of Indian cinema at Cannes, from Chetan Anand's Neecha Nagar winning the Grand Prix in 1946 to Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine As Light competing for the Palme d'Or in 2023.

CONSULATE NEWS

A curtain raiser event in the run-up to International Yoga Day was organized by SBI Canada Bank on 29 May 2024 in partnership with the Consulate General of India in Vancouver. The event was in the form of a yoga and a meditation session. Acting Consul General Amitabh Ranjan attended the event and greeted all those present. He also requested all the participants to attend the IDY main event to be organized by the Consulate.

The event was attended by Consulate officials, SBI Canada Bank staff members, Yoga practitioners, and SBI Canada Bank customers. The yoga session was conducted by Art of Living Yoga Guru Bhavna Bhira Sahni.

 

A curtain raiser event to International Day of Yoga 2024 was organized by the Consulate General of India in Vancouver on 24 May 2024 in its premises. Several Yoga gurus and representatives of the diaspora associations attended the event. The attendees shared the Yoga activities that their respective groups and associations would be organizing in the run-up to IDY 2024. Amitabh Ranjan, Acting Consul General also utilized this opportunity to invite everyone present, to the main IDY event that the Consulate is planning to organize. They were also requested to encourage their group members to participate in the IDY main event in large numbers and also spread the word about the IDY event to the wider audience. On this occasion a few yoga performances were also conducted.

 

Amitabh Ranjan, Acting Consul General (ACG) was invited as Chief Guest for the 7th annual function of the Spirit of Dance Academy. During his address, ACG congratulated the Academy on this occasion and conveyed his best wishes to performing artists. A large number of diaspora artists performed during the event. He appreciated the efforts of the academy in promoting Indian dance in the Greater Vancouver area.
